Do you ever see something that makes you wonder, “Who came up with that”? Case in point: This morning I was taking our old tv to a co-worker of mine. On the way home I passed by a church (I’m sure I passed it on the way but paid no attention) and on the sign it said “Faith – living life without fear.” This struck me as a very peculiar statement. Are they saying that if somehow I allow fear to wonder into my life then I no longer have faith? Or, Is it only at the moments that I have fear that I have no faith? I wonder, when this sign was put up, did the person put some deep theological thought into it, or, did it come from a book of some sort. Maybe next weeks sign sill simply replace fear with worry or one of the thousand other human emotions.
People fear point blank. It’s an emotion. I don’t think it’s fair to cast judgment on everyone just because they are human. So next time maybe you should put up something positive for people to see and think about.
