So tonight I was watching tv when I saw a commercial for chipotle meatloaf at Boston Market. This has lead me to believe that the chipotle sensation has gone entirely too far. Sure it is ok with certain foods, Mexican being one. Or even on wings which is delicious. But when it is introduced to meatloaf I have to say “Enough”. I have never found myself thinking, “You know what this meatloaf needs? A kick of chipotle” But who knows it may be the next sliced bread.

So in continuation of my thoughts on the book “Talent is Never Enough” I thought I would share a story I read.
” Two scientists performed a twenty year study on 1500 people. Of the group 83% of the people chose a career path based on the pay and decided they would focus on things they love later in the future. The other 17% decided to choose a carer based on something they love and worry anout finances later. After 20 years they gathered all the data and 100 out of the 101 participants in the 17% group were millionaires.”
I think this helps prove that if you do what you love things will work out.

So tonight I started a new book called Talent is Never Enough by John C Maxwell. So far it seems to be a pretty good book with some pretty interesting ideas. I have finished the first chapter and thought I would post my thoughts on it.
The first chapter is about belief. It states that if you don’t have belief in your talents then your talents will only take you so far. How many times have you not did something because you knew you were good at it but didn’t think you were good enough? The key points in the chapter are:
1. Believe in your Potential
2. Believe in Yourself
3. Believe in your Mission
There is a statement in the book that says, ” There are two kinds of people in this world: those who want to get things done and those who don’t want to make mistakes. ” This is referring to a story about the Wright brothers, and claims that a year before there was a man who built an airplane but was afraid to fly it because he was afraid that it wouldn’t work.
To sum up the point: If you have a talent, believe in it. Believe that it will allow you to do whatever you want to do.
“If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t
It’s almost certain you won’t…
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.”

Do you ever see something that makes you wonder, “Who came up with that”? Case in point: This morning I was taking our old tv to a co-worker of mine. On the way home I passed by a church (I’m sure I passed it on the way but paid no attention) and on the sign it said “Faith – living life without fear.” This struck me as a very peculiar statement. Are they saying that if somehow I allow fear to wonder into my life then I no longer have faith? Or, Is it only at the moments that I have fear that I have no faith? I wonder, when this sign was put up, did the person put some deep theological thought into it, or, did it come from a book of some sort. Maybe next weeks sign sill simply replace fear with worry or one of the thousand other human emotions.
People fear point blank. It’s an emotion. I don’t think it’s fair to cast judgment on everyone just because they are human. So next time maybe you should put up something positive for people to see and think about.

Here is a list of things that are currently annoying me.
1. People who wear sunglasses inside even with the lights dimmed.
2. Everyone attempting to talk at the same time.
3. Not having enough time due to everyone asking you questions.
I’m sure this list will grow as the day continues on.
